Interlude

From: Alan Orion, Head of FUTURE
May 1, 1996
Report # 175,841
Message Begins:

As I reported in my last communiqué half an hour ago, No -- I do not know where the Sangre Sisters are at this point in time. Or Place. Or whatever else you want to ask me.

They were on a simple assignment this morning (May 1, 1996 local calendar time -- please translate into your own local dating because I don't have the time to do it for you.) The assignment went well... but then things happened. They often do with those two involved. They took flight.

I've paid for the plane and the owner is not going to sue.

And yes, of course I'm panicked! Gods of all worlds, this is Morning Star and Morning Glory Sangre we're talking about! The last time they disappeared, time warped, a Van ship exploded, and I'm still not entirely certain who in my office I can trust.

Except, unfortunately, I know I can trust the Sangres. And that's why I still send them out on assignments. Especially ones like this, where it is absolutely essential the material not end up in the wrong hands.

However, if you find fault with my reasoning, by all means remove me from my post. I'll hand over the organization to whomever you think you can trust in the position.

Failing that, I shall continue as I have for the last ten years.

The Sangres will turn up. They always do. We just may not be happy about the trouble that turns up with them.
